Pedro Serrazina: Shadows of Ourselves

Experience a multi-channel video installation by Pedro Serrazina that fills the Raum-D at the MuseumsQuartier for one evening only. Introducing his audio-visual work he is presenting several films and talks about his aesthetics, concepts and intentions.

Pedro Serrazina
is an animation director, teacher, researcher and author. His first short film, Tale About the Cat and the Moon, was selected for Cannes in 1996, won numerous awards and is now part of the Portuguese National Film Plan. His last, Shadows of Ourselves, won the special jury prize at Monstra Festival 2026. His films, site-specific installations, music videos and academic projects have been exhibited and published internationally.
Serrazina completed a masters‘ degree at the Royal College of Art with a scholarship from the Gulbenkian Foundation, combining animation and documentary. The creation and use of animated space as a tool to reflect on social space was the subject of his PhD (completed at Lusófona University, with support from FCT).
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, he published the book Tale About the Cat and the Moon, and screened an expanded version of the film, with a soundtrack especially created and performed live by the Portuguese band Mão Morta Redux, at Batalha, Centro de Cinema, Porto. He is currently preparing What Remains of Us, a documentary project.
